Becoming emotionally invested in someone is a difficult and confusing process. It involves many conflicting feelings; trust and honesty being two of those.
Trust and honesty are two vital things that people struggle with. Why? We may never know the answer. One can assume it’s because it’s ultimately easier to lie your way through life – be it a job interview, a cancelled meeting with friends or a simple task for your mum. Lies appear the easiest option, even when they are not. This interlinks with trust. After numerous accounts of being lied to, being hurt and being let down, it becomes extremely difficult to trust anyone at all. And without trust, no productive relationship or friendship can be formed.
